“What would Don Draper do?” That’s a question we usually ask ourselves when found in a fashion conundrum, here at the IIWT headquarters. No, it doesn’t happen all that often but when it does, this question is the sole key to get you out of the wardrobe puzzle. And what more tricky than a sunny Spring day at the office. What does one wear when a suit is required but dark, moody colors are out of the question? Is a pale colored ensemble acceptable? Is there any other choice? Oh, yes. Just keep your eyes on the photos, this is how you do it:
·If you take off the tie and pocket square, what you have left is a dull, plain outfit that whispers boredom. So, rule number one, don’t be afraid to accessorize by imposing your personality on your suit. Bright colors, different patterns, crazy combos, you name it. As long as it is daring and it has your style written all over, just go ahead and do it!
·The shoes are a clever way to give length to the legs and keep the base of your outfit in neutral tones. Sure you can go out with no socks on, it is warm and the perfect time of year to pull of “an Italian”!
·Wide, straight cut chinos are just perfect with fitted jackets that are closely cut around the shoulders. If you have missed a couple of gym sessions, this style will give you the perfect cover, as it is really flattering and very fashionable this season.
·Oh how much of a sucker we are for clever details on tailored clothes…this bright red fabric sewn on the inside of the jacket’s collar is just so intensely cool that it lifts off the outfit all together. Plus, it gives a nice co-ordinance to the knitted tie _not that it needed any assistance…
