Dare to wear a pied-de-poule total look and become the best-dressed guy in the bar.

It was Coco Chanel’s favorite pattern. Alexander McQueen adored it in black and red. The British call it houndstooth and they have been using it for centuries on their outerwear, mostly in brown shades that hide splashes of mud. Nowadays, pied-de-poule, or, “chicken foot” in English, is such a versatile pattern; it can be found anywhere and worn anyhow. That is why you need to be careful. If you aren’t yet accustomed to its excess, please start with minor details, maybe on your pocket square or a blazer, combined with total black.

Since we are here to give you that extra push you need towards your sartorial excellence, today we present you with a suit that knows how to show off your daring side, while being elegant and quiet at the same time.

· Choose the smallest pattern you can find, since, the larger the pied-de-poul, the biggest the impact on the surrounding environment. A small, almost invisible “foot” will make for a pretty nice optical illusion of depth and light.
· When you go all the way with a pattern, it is always best that you keep a neutral backdrop. Here we achieved it with a black turtleneck sweater, black shoes and socks and no accessories to draw further attention.
· If you are confident enough, choose a pocket square with a different pattern, preferably a round one (curves go well with linear patterns) in the same colors. This is a move that will really lift your outfit to whole new levels of smoothness.
