Yes, I was the official ambassador for Barbour again, this year, and all I can say is that I returned to the scene of the Greek Tweed Run in Spetses with a killer look!

For the past four years, the official inauguration of spring starts with The Tweed Run in my favourite island of Spetses. Three days filled with elegance, style, old friends and new, fresh ideas, are just what I need to set off the mood for an exciting summer to come. With the iconic Poseidonion Grand Hotel as our starting point, the majestic island of the Argosaronic Gulf was filled with elegantly dressed cyclists who set off to explore every corner of Spetses, discovering the beauty of the ‘island of aromas’ at the most wonderful time of the year.

For three days, 21-23 April, the locals opened up their arms to embrace the event that originally began in London and then spread to New York and Tokyo, arriving in Greece for the first time in November 2014 within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the Poseidonion Grand Hotel. The island turned out to be the ideal backdrop for this festive style celebration. No wonder, as the classic British style is a perfect match for the aristocratic character of the island and the aesthetic of the hotel, which is reminiscent of the French Riviera.

Of course, the Greek Tweed Run has its own distinct identity, with the unique combination of its English influence and the local traditions. Having visited the island last year, I certainly knew what to expect, however, my anticipation was met with an even better memory-molding experience! Perfectly set picnics, jazz vibes, friends old and new, and a party to light the island on fire!

My favorite part was, I believe, the chance I had to vote for the best outfits. It was certainly hard to decide which of the smiling faced, tweed clad and masterfully styled looks to choose, so I just let my fashion instinct do the work!

Three piece suits, checked shirts, regimental ties, capes, foulards, and even tiny baby boys with tweed caps stole the show. At the center of this fashion phenomenon was non other than Barbour, the best classic-chic brand out there! The British clothing company was the sponsor for a second year in a row, complementing perfectly the style of the event, which is of English origin, as well as the cosmopolitan, aristocratic style of the Poseidonion Grand Hotel and Spetses. However, the brand’s history counts more than a hundred years, making the name Barbour synonymous with English elegance and perfect poise!
