There is a way to bring the sea breeze in your fall outfits and the result is a heck of a charmer!
Who said mariniere shirts only came out of the closet during the warmer months of the year? Now that the air brings in a soft chill and the first jackets are setting the tone for what your style has in store for the season that has only just started, this is the time to study the details of the fall navy style and set your sails for some good looking outfits.
DECONSTRUCTING NAVY
· Choose a crew neck mariniere that is always flattering and invest in a shirt made with cotton and wool. This is a keeper. Especially if you opt for a shirt that has little button details, like this number we chose from North Sails.
· Your jacket must resemble an old sailor pea coat. ¾ long, in dark blue, thick but flexible.
· Since you have been such a good boy with your mariniere and coat, go on and rebel a little by choosing a pair of jeans instead of simple, straight trousers. This choice, or even a nice pair of chinos, is what makes the result so interesting.
· Furthermore, not going for lace ups but putting on a pair of sneakers, no socks involved, lightens up the whole outfit.
· Remember to be perfectly groomed and perfumed, as there is a very fine line between being stylish and resembling an old sailor lost at sea for days…
